Injured Workers

Q. How do I report an on-the-job injury?
A. Report all injures at work to your employer immediately and request medical treatment, if needed. You can also personally file a claim, if your employer does not report your accident, by contacting the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission via e-mail at claims@wcc.sc.gov or phone at 803-737-5700.

Q. How do I contact the claim adjuster handling my file?
A. If you need to reach your adjuster and are not sure who to contact, you can call our switchboard at 803-896-5800. Please press zero for the operator who can assist you in reaching the correct adjuster. You can also e-mail claimsdepartment@saf.sc.gov and you will receive a reply with your adjuster’s contact information within 24 hours.

Q. Who do I contact when there is a change in my personal information?
A. Please notify your adjuster if you have a change of address, name, phone number of contact, etc.

Q. Who do I contact regarding medical bill status?
A. If you are an injured worker please contact your adjuster regarding medical bill status. If you are unsure of your adjuster’s contact information please e-mail claimsdepartment@saf.sc.gov or call 803-896-5800 and speak with our operator.

Q. What do I do if my weekly check is late?
A. The State Accident Fund cannot stop pay and reissue a TTD check until ten business days have passed since the date the check was mailed.

Q. What form do I record my traveling expenses for medical treatment due to on-the-job injury for the purposes of reimbursement?

Q. What do I do if I receive a medical bill?
A. Please notify your adjuster if you have a change of address or directly receive medical bills pertaining to your claim.

Q. What if I disagree with the decision or action of the State Accident Fund pertaining to my claim?
A. If you disagree with any decision or action of the State Accident Fund pertaining to your claim, you may request a hearing before the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission. The commission can be reached at 803-737-5700 or by visiting their website at www.wcc.sc.gov.

Medical Providers

Q. How do I find out the status of a medical bill?
A. If you are medical provider checking on bill status please contact Planned Administrators, Inc. (PAI) at 803-264-1374 or toll free at 1-800-827-5794 ext. 41374. You may also e-mail PAI at PAImedBill@bcbssc.com. If you are requesting check information please e-mail billstatus@saf.sc.gov.

Q. How do I request a quote?
A. If you are an agent or prospective member please e-mail quotes@saf.sc.gov. One of our dedicated auditors will return your request within 24 business hours.

Q. How do I request safety training?
A. If you are need of safety related training please contact safety@saf.sc.gov. You may also visit the Safety Services portion of this website to see the available safety related training courses currently provided by State Accident Fund.

Q. How do I report potential workers’ compensation fraud?
A. If you suspect someone has committed any type of workers’ compensation fraud please contact fraud@saf.sc.gov or call 803-896-5800 and ask to speak with our Inspector General. You may also call the South Carolina Insurance Fraud Hotline at 1-888-95-FRAUD (1-888-953-7283) .

A. If you are an employer, medical provider, or injured worker you may request login information to our portal. This will enable you to view information regarding claims and medical bills. Please e-mail webmaster@saf.sc.gov to request this information.
